The Goshen Central School District is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented School Secretary to support the daily operations of the CJH Middle School office. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clerical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a welcoming, efficient, and confidential office environment.

Using word processing software or typewriters to prepare correspondence, reports, discipline documents, notifications, newsletters, vouchers, and other materials from clear copy, rough draft, or recorded dictation

Maintaining student records and personnel files utilizing computer databases

Preparing daily attendance reports for personnel and substitutes

Composing correspondence at the verbal direction of the Principal

Opening and distributing incoming mail

Making appointments and maintaining the Principal’s calendar

Attending to the operation of the administrative office, including budget preparation, billing, fiscal tasks, requisitioning, and control of supplies

Maintaining the school’s master calendar, including scheduling building use for outside groups

Calling and arranging for substitutes

Monitoring the petty cash account and tracking purchase order activity

Answering telephones, providing routine information, and directing calls to appropriate offices

Operating a variety of office equipment including copiers, fax machines, computers, and peripheral equipment
