Position Title: Special Education Teacher (Probationary)
Location: Goshen Intermediate School (Grades 3-5)
Position Description
Goshen Central School District seeks a dedicated and collaborative Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instructional services and support to students with disabilities in an inclusive elementary school environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student achievement, differentiated instruction, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal and New York State regulations.
- Provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records.
- Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings and other district initiatives.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional practices and behavioral supports.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth.
Qualifications
Appropriate New York State Certification Required:
- Students with Disabilities (All Grades), or
- Students with Disabilities (Grades 1–6),
- Salary
Salary will be in accordance with the provisions of the Goshen Teachers Association (GTA) Contract.
