Position Summary
Goshen Central School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher (Grades 7–8) to join our team at C.J. Hooker Middle School. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction, foster a supportive learning environment, and inspire students to achieve their full potential in mathematics. This is a probationary position, providing the opportunity for long-term employment upon successful completion of the probationary period.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with NYS Learning Standards for Mathematics (Grades 7–8).
- Assess and monitor student learning, providing timely feedback and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and instruction.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in school and district professional development, committees, and events.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and staff.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Valid New York State Certification in Mathematics (Grades 7–12) or eligibility for certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field.
- Strong knowledge of middle and high school mathematics curriculum.
- Preferred:
- Prior teaching experience at the middle or high school level.
- Experience integrating technology into instruction.
- Commitment to differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs.
