Job Description

The Goshen Central School District is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented School Secretary to support the daily operations of the CJH Middle School office. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clerical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a welcoming, efficient, and confidential office environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Using word processing software or typewriters to prepare correspondence, reports, discipline documents, notifications, newsletters, vouchers, and other materials from clear copy, rough draft, or recorded dictation

  • Maintaining student records and personnel files utilizing computer databases

  • Preparing daily attendance reports for personnel and substitutes

  • Composing correspondence at the verbal direction of the Principal

  • Opening and distributing incoming mail

  • Making appointments and maintaining the Principal’s calendar

  • Attending to the operation of the administrative office, including budget preparation, billing, fiscal tasks, requisitioning, and control of supplies

  • Maintaining the school’s master calendar, including scheduling building use for outside groups

  • Calling and arranging for substitutes

  • Monitoring the petty cash account and tracking purchase order activity

  • Answering telephones, providing routine information, and directing calls to appropriate offices

  • Operating a variety of office equipment including copiers, fax machines, computers, and peripheral equipment

Position Summary

Goshen Central School District is seeking a reliable, organized, and experienced Senior School Secretary to join our administrative support team. The Senior School Secretary plays an essential role in ensuring the efficient daily operation of a school office or district administrative office. This position requires strong communication skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Substitute Custodial Worker

SUBSTITUTE CUSTODIAL WORKER

SALARY: $16.00/hour

LOCATION: DISTRICT WIDE

Hours per week: not to exceed 29 hrs.

Available all shifts during the school year.

This work involves routine building cleaning and occasional minor maintenance tasks. Cleaning tasks are performed according to well-defined procedures and maintenance tasks are performed under direct supervision or according to specific instructions. Supervision is received from a Head Custodian or Custodian. Duties involve cleaning and light maintenance of district facilities, grounds and other related work as required.
