School Bus Driver		Join Our Team: School Bus Driver Goshen Central School District Hourly Rate: $28.36 Position Overview The Goshen Central School District is seeking responsible, safety-focused individuals to serve as School Bus Drivers. This position involves driving a school bus on an assigned route and may include minor vehicle maintenance duties. Drivers play a vital role in ensuring students arrive safely and on time while fostering a positive and respectful environment on the bus. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Head Bus Driver or Supervisor of Transportation, following established policies and procedures. Drivers are expected to exercise independent judgment in carrying out daily responsibilities and perform related duties as required. Typical Work Activities Operate a school bus on a regular schedule or for special trips and events Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure safe operating condition Report operational defects to supervisor promptly Instruct students on safety regulations and practices Maintain orderly student conduct on the bus Keep the interior and exterior of the bus clean and neat Maintain records of mileage, routes, times, and incidents Prepare and update route maps and pick-up points Perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., fueling, oil checks, tire changes, placing chains on wheels) Dispatch pupil transportation vehicles as needed Train school bus driver candidates in obtaining CDL permits and licenses Support district transportation operations as needed	$28.36
School Bus Monitor		Class Title: School Bus Monitor Hourly Rate: $21.15 per hour Location: Bus Garage - Goshen, NY Reports To: Supervisor of Transportation DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS This position involves responsibility for assisting in providing and maintaining safe conditions for school bus passengers. The School Bus Monitor assists with the safe evacuation of the vehicle in emergency situations. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Transportation. Related duties may be assigned as required. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES Assists in providing and maintaining safe conditions for school bus passengers Ensures students are seated promptly after boarding and remain seated until the bus reaches its destination Assists student riders with problems while on the bus Exits the bus before students to ensure traffic conditions are safe and assists children in crossing to the curb Assists with seatbelts and safety equipment, including wheelchair lifts, for students with special needs Uses the “bus conduct report” to document and report behavior concerns Reinforces basic behavioral and learning expectations to promote safe and appropriate bus conduct Assists students in boarding and exiting the bus May determine seating assignments to maintain order May perform food service or custodial duties on a substitute basis FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS Good knowledge of school bus safety practices Ability to get along with children and command their respect Ability to communicate effectively Ability to manage adverse situations calmly and appropriately Ability to lift and move students as necessary Willingness to work under varying weather and environmental conditions Tact, courtesy, and dependability Strong observational skills Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position	$21.15
