Minimum Salary: $43,726.00
Salary: Commensurate with experience as per CSEA contract


TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Indexes and files letters, reports, memos, and other related office documents.
  • Conducts simple file searches and maintains record of charge-out of files.
  • Gives out routine information to the public, either in person or on the telephone.
  • Opens incoming mail, date stamps, and distributes to the appropriate staff.
  • Assists in preparation of routine reports and surveys.
  • Operates standard office equipment such as calculators, fax machines, photocopiers, or metered mailing machines.
  • Makes simple entries onto office documents, records, bills, ledgers, etc.
  • May perform occasional typing duties which do not require a certified degree of proficiency.
  • May act as a receptionist and provide routine assistance for inquiries or refer inquiries to appropriate staff members.
  • May make appointments as required.
  • May operate and make simple data entries into computerized information/word processing systems.
  • May work on special projects as needed.

ATTENDANCE AIDE - 10 MONTH

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves responsibility for the daily collection and compilation of student attendance records in a school. Work is performed under direct supervision of a building Administrator in accordance with established procedures and is subject to daily review. Does related work as required.


TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

  • Collects daily classroom attendance records including notes and passes from students;
  • Types and distributes daily attendance sheets;
  • Updates computer attendance records daily;
  • Telephones parents and/or guardians to verify student absences;
  • Operates a typewriter and/or computer keyboard to perform duties which do not require a certified degree of proficiency;
  • Opens, sorts and distributes mail;
  • Answer telephones and refer calls to the appropriate person;
  • May act as receptionist, greeting and directing visitors;
  • May offer back-up clerical support for office staff.

The successful candidate will be hired under the NYS HELPS program.
