Substitute Food Service Helper – Districtwide

 LOCATION:
Districtwide (various school cafeterias)


POSITION SUMMARY

The Substitute Food Service Helper performs routine manual work under immediate supervision in support of food preparation and service in school cafeterias. Duties include preparing food trays, serving meals, and cleaning kitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils. Training will be provided.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare food trays and assist in meal preparation

  • Serve meals to students and staff following established procedures

  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, tableware, silverware, and work areas

  • Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, and safety practices

  • Perform other related duties as assigned


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of proper food-service methods

  • Working knowledge of the care and cleaning of tableware, glassware, silverware, and kitchen equipment

  • Familiarity with modern cleaning methods and appropriate cleaning supplies

  • Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions

  • Physical strength, stamina, and overall condition commensurate with the demands of the position


COMPENSATION

  • Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour

  • Schedule: As needed (substitute/on-call basis)
